Niels has more than 16 years experience within shipping of which the last 11 years as shipbroker engaged in s&p, newbuilding and chartering of Container, RoRo and RoPax tonnage, which will also be his main focus in his new position.

Navitaship of Copenhagen is pleased to announce the establishment of their new shipbroking activities.

Copenhagen is a shipping center and the location is combining local knowledge with international experience.

The shipbroking activities of the company will be targeted towards sale & purchase of second-hand tonnage, chartering, valuations and contracting of newbuildings. The main focus will initially be within specialized tonnage servicing clients with RoRo, RoPax, PCTC and offshore tonnage.

The shipbrokers of Navitaship will all be with a long and successful track-record within shipping.

Founder Poul Ørsted Bredesgaard has a past with Maersk Broker and Nordana Line and express that the coming years in shipping will need very focused and specific value added services to owners, charterers, banks and shipyards, from brokers with hands-on experience both in the recent millennium super cycle but certainly also from the past downturn cycles in the nineties.

He comments “with our focus and strategy we will have the possibility of being 100% customer oriented. Navitaship will be able to offer consultancy both with restructuring of existing projects as well as development of new initiatives”.

The intention is that a number of internationally renowned shipbrokers will join the company within the next 3-6 months which will offer the possibility of expanding the core focus area to other shipping segments”.
